Altmodisch formed in the Winter of 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Their first EP was released in the fall of 2007 on the Danish label
Indietronica.dk while their second EP was released in February 2008
on another Danish label RUST music.
Having signed to Regular Beat in 2009, Altmodish's debut album will
be released on April 19th 2010. The album was recorded and produced
by Altmodisch and Tim Sorensen in Copenhagen.
Heavily
influenced by Notwist, The Postal Service and Portishead, Altmodisch
have been compared to the likes of fellow Scandanavian artists Sigur
Ros and The Sugarcubes back in their homeland. The band use a variety
of traditional instruments on the album such as violin, accordian,
trumpet and cello alongside drum machines, sampled loops and other
digital elements.
Altmodisch are:
Hans-Christian Pommergaard: Keys, guitars & vocals
Thomas Mondrup: Guitars & Vocals
Mathias Lyhne: Programming & live-sampling
Kristoffer Lyhne: Drums & live-sampling
(Plus various guest musicians)
