Rough Trade described 'Running On Grass' as "the stand-out track on the superb Extended Play EP...this really is a beautiful, all too brief gem" and went on to select the track to appear on the Rough Trade Shops Counter Culture 2004 album alongside the likes of Elliott Smith, Sonic Youth and Bloc Party.

Following this early success, Ambrose Tompkins released their first full EP 'Every Now And Then...' in March 2005, an eclectic collection of songs which drew comparisons with Beck, the Beta Band and Big Star (click here for more on this record).

After a succession of gigs across the country, the band are now in the studio beginning work on their debut album. Their next release will be as part of the forthcoming split-EP on Regular Beat; more details on this record and the band's next string of gigs to follow in due course. Back >>
